Question Need a photo Critiqued? - 02-01-2010, 11:54 AM

Many have asked how to get a photo correctly Critiqued or helpful comments to help them grow as a photographer. Posting on thread can help but asking someone directly is probably the most helpful and encouraging or productive way to grow.

I suggest we create this thread to add members on here that are willing to get PMs by other members to ask them to comment, critique or direct them to help with a photo in general.

Please don't add all your email information due to spammers but simply post your real name and I'll add you to the list of members offering to help.

Also remember; Critique is a Critic not a fan. If you want - "It looks great", don't ask for help by these members. Please contact a member that you do not know. It's best to get feedback from a stranger instead of a known friend.

Want your photo Critqued; Title your PM (Please Critique Me) as so they know where the PM came from. Add your photo inside your PM or direct them to it. Please only send 1 or 2 images max. (give them 24 hours to comment)

hotholly Holly Ward

I can give general critiques on composition, flow, focal point, etc. I'm a portrait photographer, usually shooting moody bridals and boudoir.

While this is a nice idea, part of the reason for posting critiques on a thread is so that ALL members can learn from the successes and problems. If the request points to a thread, then I think it would be more helpful to the general population.

In that light, I will offer to help with critiques on portraits, headshots, fashion, and glamour categories. Username: srwatters

Hmmm ... I like this idea but I also like what srwatters stated.

I love learning a few more tricks that someone else had an issue that becomes collectively resolved by all the viewing members in the thread.

But definitely for a more precise Constructive Critique ... hitting up one of you guys is also a great idea. ...

I feel I will be using this system in both ways.

Thanks for the support, this is just to set up a system in place for a second option. I know even professionals that use this to this date instead of posting a photo and never know if anyone looks at it.

We can have a cart ready for the Horse. lol

I think it's a great idea!
Are we suppose to put in front of the title, "(Please Critique)".............?

Marc, how does this work, for those that want to be critiqued?

Also, it should be open and not sent via private message. I think someone else
mentioned this, so it could be helpful to everyone.

I agree with Scott 100%.

I would rather see a sub-forum for serious critique.

That being said, I will help out.
General Photos,
Landscape.

I may take more than 24hrs to reply. I like to look, think awhile, look and then answer.

I will warn people that I am brutal and opinionated..... just ask my friends.
