Help with Background Idea - 02-03-2010, 02:04 PM

I am shooting a school dance in 3 weeks for the first time. I have done the quick shoots before, so I am not worried about that, but I need an idea for how to make a backdrop work...

I have a backdrop stand with black muslin, white muslin and white paper available, and I don't mind spending a little money to get something new. I really would like to do a wallpaper print with a wood floor...I have done this before and put the wall paper on 2 pieces of ply wood, but when I had to transport it back I couldn't save the wallpaper.

Does anyone have an idea on how to do this look but have it be transportable? Or any ideas on what else I could do...the theme of the dance is Hollywood Starlet. (It's a Daddy/Daughter dance)

Thanks!

Do you want a wood floor themed wallpaper as background? How about glueing the wallpaper onto a vinyl surface and then rolling it? You'd need to hang the vinyl using your background stands and clamps.

I will have to look into that...the wallpaper is like a white with black scroll things (hard to describe but really pretty) and then I would lay the wood floor planks that I have down. I thought about adhering it to my white paper, but my husband doesn't think that would work.

Diana,

Get some netting to balance out the background with the flooring...
