I guess I was really bored tonight..... Anyway, I rounded up the myriad of crap that my friend and I have accumulated in the quest for something that will help us tame those flash gremlins. I think between he and I, and my wife's good intentioned surprises that equates to purchasing me another gadget, we have a pretty good smattering of flash accessories. The Gary Fong stuff showed up one day shortly after I had looked at his site and left the computer on. Naturally my wife assumed that since I was reading it, I must need it, and since it wasn't an arm and a leg, why not?! Geez, I wish that would happen when I pull up the 200-400mm/f4VR or the 400mm/f2.8 pages!
Anyway, armed with a thimble full of knowledge and a cold beverage, here is what I labored to produce. An unscientific, poorly illustrated, woefully inadequate, glimpse into.... Wow, I wonder if this is how D Prophet thinks all the time?
Ok, enough babbling. The sheet below is really there just to show a simple representation of some of the different flash results. Basically I just slapped on the different attachments, shot a picture head on and moved on to the next item. Crash and dash.... The products used were a Lumiquest bounce kit, Wescott Mini Apollo, Nikon's standard diffuser, the Lightsphere II and the Lightshere PJ. Yes I know the shadows are horrible, but that was part of the experiment. What was interesting is that both the LSII and the LSPJ did the best with reducing the shadows (pj, lsiitop, lsiitop2, lsiint) and I think the LSII overall did the best. Problem is, you have to have the courage to show up with that thing attached! I could go into the whole filename code, but does anyone really care at this point?!
