Portrait Help - 11-18-2005, 03:21 PM

I intend to take photos of a husband and wife. The husband has verk dark skin, almost black (he is a black man) and the wife (black also) is of a much lighter shade. They contrast very well. Any tips on how best to photograph a black couple?

thanks!

edd

PS You may think it is the same as any other couple, but I know from experience that it is not the same.

hi....yes there's a solution..but it's very difficult..u might recruit the some extra hands to hold a reflector...on the man's side oppisite of his wife....that will balance have a focused light closer to him...and another light metered just for her.....i hope this helps some bit...but unless u use a strong kick light for the guy to make a siluette for his shadows...u'll just loss him in the back ground....one more idea....it wouldn't hurt if he wore a white shirt..perferably one with a colar..to refleck some light under his face...it does the trick sometimes :D
