Do you use Dr. Browns script...... Image Processor 2.3 - 03-03-2005, 09:31 AM

Normally I don't have that many Raw images to work on, but this last weekend was a little different.

With all the shooting I did, I had around 500 to work on. Well at my rate of speed with Photoshop I would have been done sometime around next Christmas.

So I pulled out the old Dr. Brown script that I have not messed with for awhile and got them all done in one evening. I did update to the new one, the one I had on my PC was one if his older ones.

The new 2.3 is really nice in that it lets you do selected images from the file browser, so I looked over the shots and selected all with the same lighting and worked those as a group.

If you do Raw and don't have it I would say you really need to go get it.

It's a pretty nice tool especially now that the newer version has more options. I use it sometimes for generating "proofs". Most of the time though for processing "keepers" I just use PS's batching capability along with some custom actions that I had written before finding Dr's Browns Processor. What the processor basically does is save you from having to record actions to batch with, if the processor covers what you need it can be a real time-saver.

I have, and use often, Dr. Browns Image Processor 2.0 ... didn't know there was an update -- thanks bill.

I use it for all kinds of resizing and reformatting type work. Since I shoot in raw, by the time i'm fully done with a picture, there will be 4 reditions of it: one raw, one tif, one full size jpg, and one web resized jpg. Dr. Brown's script makes batching really easy.

I guess when I think about it, that is what I am doing, proofing them. After I get though with Dr. Brown then I go look them over and pick the ones I really want saved out and edit them.
