Included with my sp800 was a yellow gel for tungston lights and kind of green one for flor lights. Have used these with moderae success. I just experiment with them and the camera white balance setting until I get it right, one of the benefits of digital. I also shot raw so I can correct the color

If you need larger sheet look for Rosco's "Straw" or "Amber" line of color temperature correction filters. I believe they come with varying degree of correction - full 1/2, 1/4, etc. You can always stack them together. For example, two 1/2 sheets = full.
GEAR near downtown Austin has tons of these stuff.

I read about a little trick in a photo magazine the other day. If you go to this site http://www.rosco.com/us/filters/swat...?type=roscolux and order a swatchbook, to swatches that are sent (for free) are a perfect fit to tape over an on-camera flash.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.
