Help with Standing poses - 11-12-2010, 10:08 AM

I have a shoot tomorrow with a family of four; Mom, Dad, 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl. They do not want sitting poses, standing only.

Does anyone have any advice on, or examples of, how to pose this family standing?

Thank you!

Here is a video of a few do's and don't for group posing.

Outdoor Group Portrait Posing: Portrait Photography | eHow.com

I live in east texas as you do and know that the foliage is changing colors right now and offering a great backdrop for outdoor portriats, especially around a lake. For location maybe a pier/gazebo/rustic fence with nearby colorful trees as a backdrop instead of or in addition to the lake. I guess having the shoot tomorrow does not give you much time to scout for a location but I would do it early in the day or late demending on which direction you will be shooting... I am visualizing a shoot like this and could go on and on but I am sure you get the picture :) pun intended :) Sorry if this is TMI.

Definitely not TMI. Unfortunately, I'm shooting in Grapevine tomorrow. I have not had much luck with sessions around home. I've lived here for almost seven years, but don't really know a lot of people. I am just getting started and things are moving slowly. Hoping that all changes soon! I grew up in Dallas and most of my friends are still there. Tomorrow I have four mini sessions planned, all put together by a wonderful friend. I also have another two sessions on Sunday. I'm going to Dallas tomorrow to stay the night, so it's worth the drive.

Thank you for the video, it is helpful and gave me the idea to search some videos!
