Question Help! Nikon Browser took over Photoshop - 12-18-2005, 05:33 PM

Can someone tell me how to put back the applet that Photoshop uses to edit RAW files? I installed Nikon Viewer and now Nikon's wimpy editing program pops up when I open a RAW file in Photoshop.

I really like Nikon Viewer and I am want to reset Photoshop without unistalling Nikon Viewer.

Nevermind...
I figured it out. I had to go into the plugins folder and rename 2 files.

Nikon NEF Plugin.8bi
Nikon YCC TIFF.8BI

Here's a thought...even tho I am Canon, But, with the Nikon program there may be a photoshop plugin option. If there is, you might try uninstalling the Nikon Viewer program, Check to see that Photoshop works normally again, then reinstall the Nikon viewer but do not enable the photoshop plugin.

Yeah, every time you update Nikon Capture it installs it's raw converter in the plugins. You just need to remove/rename it. Once you kow about it, 30 secnds and you are done, no biggie...

I like Caputre for certain items. It's not Photoshop, but then again it isn't supposed to be. Some of the lens corrections are pretty good. I have seen some cool stuff from fisheye shots that have been "corrected".
