Its Rally Time! - 01-10-2011, 04:49 PM

Hello all!

Last year I shot the "Stand for Life" rally in Kerrville. Its a get-together on the courthouse lawn to support pro-life. I got some great pictures and I used one camera body so I was changing lenses a lot!

This year I have TWO camera bodies and will have a telephoto on one and a 28-75mm lense on the other.

As I am just at amateur level with no formal training or following whatsoever, do ya'll have any words of advice? Is there something I should be thinking of when I'm shooting?

Thanks!

Each event, each rally is different. I think you have to just get there, evaluate it and decide how to cover it.

Search some news sites, see how they cover like events to give you some ideas.

Below is link to a recent Tea Party rally:

@Ryan & @Bob, thanks for the links, guys! The rally is tomorrow and I am super excited about it. They've asked me to design posters and flyers for the rally too so I can't wait to see what my work looks like in print!

I was thinking about writing a little freelance coverage piece for the rally. Is there something I need to keep in mind to keep things appropriate and to maintain compassion?

Quite frankly, I'm a terrible writer. That's why I try to produce photo slideshows rather than write. So I don’t think I can help you.
