Mother & Child Posing Ideas?

I have a shoot tomorrow with a young mother and her 18 months old son.
Need posing ideas, anything fresh, modern, not boring.

Any ideas, tips, pointers?

Oh my goodness! I love these. My favorites are when the little one was grabbing mom's leg and all you see of mom is the jeans... and the last one with the lasso. I have never seen anything like that before. You did a great job!

Those poses are GREAT!! Kids are hard to shoot and you basically just have to shoot as they go. I have two girls and getting them together to shoot is NEXT to impossible without getting heavy shadows on either of them. Lots of light and some creativity works great. I'll shoot anywhere from 150-200 pictures of them at a time and get 20-25 good ones.
