Minimizing Heavy Eyeliner - 12-27-2005, 05:45 PM

I'm hoping a Photoshop Guru can help me with this one. I'm needing someone who knows a non-messing/non-totally time consuming way to minimize heavy eyeliner in Photoshop.
I've encountered this problem on more than one occassion whereas the eyeliner is so heavy that the eyes appear to be slits. Is there a way in Photoshop that anyone knows of to bring back the eye? I've liquified, but heavy undereye liner still drastically reduces the eyeshape.
Wacky question, I know....and I can fix it to a point with liquify and a very steady handed healing, but it's way too time consuming. Anyone know a better way? I can't imagine doing this my way on another 300 pictures........

Hey Cindy, :) Do have a sample pic? Can email it and I will see what I can do. I am thinking that the heal tool might do it, but will have a play and see. I used to have to do that on photos of my older daughter when she went thru her really heavy black eyeliner phase, but I used the clone tool at that time. I am still learning about cs2. I don't know if you can recreate the eye, if it's reduced to that degree, but I am always up to expirement,,lol. You have my email ;)

Thanks Liz!
I'll send you the raw version. I don't know if that will help in this situation, but maybe.....
Thanks again!

Lets see one, maybe you need to eliminate the problem at the time of the shot. The you don't have to worry about it.

Hey Bill!!!!!!!! ( Been missing you buddy!!!!!!!) Let me put up the original shot, as well as the one I tried to convert in PS. This wasn't a model shoot (an event) , so I had no control about how the participants showed up. The girl is very beautiful, but so often she looks tired........I'm trying to fix it with the eye thing.
See the following.........

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

WOW, that would be a hard one to do with any type of an action.

I think you did as good of a job as could be expected.
Maybe next time you could throw some water in her face to wake her up before you take the shot.
