truck driver photos - 04-06-2011, 02:46 PM

My husband, who is a plant manager, would like me to take some pictures of his drivers (individually) with their trucks. They are concrete mixers. I've been googling and can't seem to find any shots that would give me some ideas. Anybody out there ever shot truck drivers. It could be any kind of large commercial vehicle.

The first thought was to light them from the console and overhead behind the wheel, but I'm assuming they're only driving during daylight hours.

Another option is to get a wide angle lens , possibly a low shot to make them look imposing working the controls of the mixer, i'm thinking they'd be all grungy looking as well as vs just out of the shower and shaven.

These would be clean shaven, in uniform shots standing next to or on the running board of their trucks. However, wide angle from low would be good. Maybe I could do one of them leaning out of the window, too.

those are great. Are you crouched, shooting up? I love the sunglasses, too.

Both images looks like they were shot standing.

the 1st image appears to have been shot at 18mm at f7.1, with a flash camera left
the 2nd image appears to have been shot at 18mm at f4 with a flash camera left(from what it appears)

I was thinking something similar to that second example picture, I think I would put the truck in the distance as a backdrop, and make the driver the focal point.

The examples are great!
Show the driver in his environment...the truck as a smaller part of it. Wide angle shot from about waist height. Otherwise, snapshot height. Flash, if you got it.!
