Adobe or SRGB on your Camera (and why)? - 01-01-2006, 03:40 PM

I recently changed my Camera to Adobe (Rebel XT) because several friends told me it was better. I am finding that the photos are coming out with a red tinge to them. I have set PS to use the Adobe workspace and it is still red. If I open the picture with ACDSee the red tinge is not there. Any idea's?

Thanks

Is your monitor calibrated and Photoshop set for that calibration profile?

Yup, I used a friends calibrayion device thingy and set it all up, I have not calibrated my printer, but if I print them they look the same, I think everything is right, they are just coming out red

Describe exactly what happens when you open the JPG's in Photoshop.

1) Do you get a prompt asking you to convert/assign the image's profile to your working space?

2) If you go to Edit->Convert To Profile, what color space does it show that the JPEG is in?

One thing that can make figuring out what's going on in situations such as these is to go into the Color Settings dialog and make sure that in the Color Management Policies section, all of the "Ask when..." checkboxes are checked. That way if you open a file and Photoshop isn't sure what to do with it, you'll get a prompt.

I think I just figured out what it was, my buddy borrowed the camera the same day I changed it to Adobe and he changed it from Parameter 1 to Set 1 in which he kicked the saturation all the way up. I corrected it and the pictures are coming out much better now, Thanks everyone.
