to buy or not to buy?? - 01-05-2006, 05:35 PM

Right now all I have is Photoshop Elements 2 and Paint shop Pro 8 (which I use more and like better).

My question is should I upgrade to Photoshop Elements 4? I cant go all the way yet to Adobe PS7. But is the 100 bucks it cost worth it?

Thanks guys
Kimberley

I think the 100 bucks is worth it. It has way more features than what either of your programs currently have. It is an investment just like your camera equipment. If you are shooting dead on and your photos need little... if any touch ups, then what you have may suffice.

On the other hand if you take your photography seriously enough to purchase good lenses and you shoot lots of images, you may find that you have alot more keepers just by using a few features in Photoshop. It offers alot more finer adjustment features and in addition you can take advantage of "actions" which are HUGE time savers when processing alot of images.

This is how I originally upgraded to PSCS. Photoshop is worth it if you can spring for the extra cash.

I upgraded when I got my 20D. With another coupon someone in another forum pointed out at the time I paid $249.00 for PSCS2. I will try to find the url for the trade up if I still have it.

Forgot, I save everything... lol

The Fry's Electronics adv in today's newspaper has PSE4 for $69.99 with a $20 Upgrade rebate coupon. Since you already have PSE2, you would end up paying $49.99 instead of the $100 price.

It would be nice to be able to run actions, but you can do a lot with Elements.
