Timelapse - Gavin Hoey - Using Lightroom - 08-19-2011, 03:38 PM

PhotoGavin's Channel - YouTube

Hopefully this is not already posted anywhere. I didn't know whether to put it here or in the Photo Processing section. The video contains a little bit of both.

Gavin Hoey describes how to shoot the frames and how to process the photos for a timelapse video.

He uses Lightroom and a template that he gets here:

I use LRTimeLapse. I like it. I also use Final Cut Express. I think that if I was better with FCE I would prefer it for creating time lapse video's

Pretty slick!!! Thanks for posting.
I have done LR with some timelapse photos before, but imported them into Vegas and set the time per image down to create 24fps then exported the MPG.
This seems much simpler!
Thanks

LRTimeLapse creates a very smooth video. His transitions are very nice.

It can be done in Photoshop as well. Simply select the open menu in PS, select the first image and check the checkbox for image sequence. Then, select File > Export > Render Video.

Voilą! Done. Exactly the same as the Lightroom method.

Todd,

I don't see a checkbox for image sequence in the Open Menu of PSCS5.

What am I missing?

Never mind. I just googled it and it has to be Photoshop Extended which I don't have.

Hmm, weird.

I open photoshop. Go to the File menu, select "Open". The open dialog opens up, and when I select a folder of .jpg files, it shoes an option to "open as sequence".

[edit - ah! Sorry to hear that. ]
