I had always thought a faster lense would allow a camera to focus easier. However, I read your first response as you were saying the faster lenses had more of a problem. That is what confused me. Thanks for clarifying.

I need some help from a Rebel xs user. I looked at the manual, but I'm not sure I understand. I see that the asterisk button locks the exposure. Can it be changed to control focusing?
