Question Shooting in Cold/Snow? - 11-26-2011, 12:02 AM

I'm going on vacation to someplace with snow. Are there any precautions I need to take for protecting my camera? Tips for shooting in the cold or while it is snowing?

I am still new at this and haven't purchased UV filters yet so not sure about how to protect my lens.

Thanks,

Karen

Watch out for fogging lenses & cameras by going from warm to cold & back again. Carry a spare battery in a nice warm inside pocket.

Have fun!

Metering snow requires 1 1/2 to 2 stops additional exposure. Otherwise, the snow will be underexposed and look dark.
