Flores - that is a good point too. It brings to mind the greats whose art appeals to the masses/laymen but also stands up under scrutiny by those who are fluent in the given art form. Kind of a tangent to this thread but some good food for thought.

Rules are just "guidelines" and are meant to be broken.

I don't mind a centered subject, but a horizon splitting the photo in half is a pet peeve. I want to see lots of a great sky, or lots of a great landscape. I don't want 1/2 of each, I feel like I'm being cheated.

I'm always game for breaking any other rules except for the horizon rule.
