Ok so as I was converting to black and white when I decided to play with the contrasts.

Which black and white is more pleasing?

this one was simply desaturated and had levels adjusted then finally added a filter.

This has no filters, no level adjustments, only channel mixing.

Kinda hard to pick since they're so different, but I think I like the tones in the second one better.

Ya I know what you mean... I've been with a black and white kick for a while now and I'm just trying to get others' opinions/inputs.... I kinda like both. But as you said they are both different even though they're both black and white.

Welcome to TPF Ricardo..hahaha congrats on over 100 posts...you don't happen to like peanut butter do? nevermind...lmao!! inside joke. lol.

In the first one I was going for the Audrey Hepburn look....meh..kinda sort got it.. I was hoping the filter would help it out some more.

In the second one I only played with the channel mixing under layers. That was it. No level adjusting, no filters.

I like the tonal differences in second one as well... the blacks are blacker than the in the first one. I do like the first one however because of its subtle tones from black to white.

the second one is more contrasty<----is that a word? pfft..I don't care it's my world, my word...........ha.

I like the 2nd picture. The first seems that important details are lost because of the contrast. There's little seperation between her head and the scarf so it all kind of blends in together and doesn't look right. Of course, this is on my uncalibrated work monitor.
