An idea I am working on for some "artsy" type shots is with dominoes.

Get a set of 9,12, or 15 dot dominoes. They have colored dots instead of black. Then place them in interesting layouts on a green felt tablecloth (or some neat contrasty BG).

What I am playing with now is having them lined up standing on the small sides (like you would to make them all fall in a dominoe effect).
Two options here -
1) macro shot with use of depth of field - near and far doms in the line are out of focus.
2) Action - catch the shot as the doms are falling

Another concept I am considering is using the old Jax (jacks) and ball game on a pure white BG.

Hot girls + twister = indoor game. That would win any contest that I would judge.

Maybe not what you had in mind..........

Bloody good idea though.
Maybe we should suggest that one as the next TPF Assignment Exercise? Brad? You listening?

I saw a neat photo that employed the "multiple image of the same subject" theme. A guy set up his camera on a tripod and then took four photos of himself playing poker.

He sat in one of the chairs holding his poker hand and then took a photo. Then, careful not to move his chair or anything else on the table, he moved into the next chair and took another photo. He did this all the way around the table and then blended the photos together in photoshop.

He even added the touch of changing his shirt for each photo and shaving off his full beard and moustache in stages. He had all the facial hair in the first photo and then by the last one, he was clean shaven.

Pretty cool and well thought out photo.

Here's a link to it... http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=12937833

I did some shots with just a scrabble board, black background and a halogen desk light. Turned out cool.
