Which RAW converter? - 02-10-2006, 05:22 PM

Up until now, I've always used ACR and been happy enough.

However, I'm starting to believe that it can't handle the white balance range for an IR converted DSLR.
I have trial versions of Bibble and Capture One and they both seem able to handle the required range.

I was wondering which RAW converter everyone here uses and why?

you may want to consider whether you want to use such extreme WB settings because they can really destroy the S/N ratio of the red and blue channels. A near-IR shot should have the majority of the image data in the red channel, if if you try to "neutralize" all channels to get a more neutral color rendering, that means you're boosting the blue channel bigtime which can increase noise. A better approach might be to leave the IR color and take it into Photoshop and you your B/W conversion there.
