I like the first image but it seemed to be too dark for the aircraft colors to come through, but too light to be a silhouette. Made a couple of quick changes after asking David. Anyway, here's a slightly different version...

You're a brave man!

It gets windy out there as well. I can't imagine how cold it must have been.

Nice shots! Good edit Pete.

David, that was pretty straightforward and you can learn to easily do it in PS or Elements. I simply lowered the overall exposure a bit with the levels adujustment. Of course with PS you do do a lot with ANY image, some good, some not so good! I just wanted to illustrate what I thought I would do to this if it were mine. For instance, you can see that in my example there is some slight banding in the sunset colors. For a more finished look you could blur that area and it would help reduce those bands.

You can tie yourself up for hours in PS if you are not careful!

Did you pick up any hassle-factor?

...um, it's a camera... you use it to take pictures...

Hmmm... come with us downtown Mr. Turner.

I haven't had any problems. I even took a couple of shots in the new DFW terminal for an upcoming event at the new Hyatt there. No problems so far...

Maybe they've lightened up some... I've got a few friends in UK/London that have told me that every time there's an "event" (read as: the subway/bus bombings), there's always an uneasy lock-down where if you pull out a camera and look suspicious, you get questioned... I've even read about some photographers being asked to delete their pictures.

I guess we've got it lucky...
