Zoo Trip Tommorrow - 02-12-2006, 01:47 PM

I am taking my wife and kids to the OKC Zoo tommorrow and was wondering about lense choices. I am still learning all the ins and outs of my Nikon D50, any tips for my trip tommorrow?

I have 3 lenses: Nikon DX 18-55 and 55-200 mm f/4-5.6g ed and a sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 macro super lense.

I am mostly going to take photos of the animals and some of the kids, but dont want to carry a bunch of stuff with me. Prob should also take my tripod in also. Any advice would help. Thanks

You will probably need the length of your 300mm lens. Since it goes down to 70, you could use it as a walkaround there and move back from the kids when you take their pics.

Otherwise you will probably want the 18-55 as well for the wide angle ones with the kids.

What Tom said.... And yes, bring the tripod. It will make a HUGE difference in the amount of "keepers" you get. It can be a pain to drag along, but it is well worth it!

I would agree but if I could only take one it would be the 70-300. Tripod would help or a mono pod if you have it would be easier to carry around
