Hey guys and gals,
I am looking for some help with a few images of a very good friend of mine and although it was my fault in the posing I am trying to remove or get rid of double chin.
How is the best way to do so?
I am posting an example of what I am working with here and if someone could please help with this and tell me how they did it, it would be greatly appreciated. Attachment 10667
Thanks,
Steve

I played with it two ways and had pretty good luck with both. Simple clone tool in PS and some smoothing or the Smudge tool at 50% with upward strokes. I can post the results if you would like. It only takes a small adjustment to make pretty dramatic results. Give it try!

I did several things to this image to help it out a bit. The chin work was done mostly with the liquifly filter, push left tool; and some touches of clone tool and healing brush after the liquify.
Free transform with the width reduced 1 or 2% and a careful crop to hide some edges of the body, plus select the side of her arm, duplicate layer (feathered), and move it in a little. A touch of dodging to add some shading (mostly under the chin), merge all this, duplciate layer with a minimal blur, and set layer blend to soft light. It's alot of things to do (work) but only takes a few minutes after you get good at it (practice...a bunch).
Roll-over demo (move your mouse over the image for before and after) here: http://www.hummingbirdai.com/doublechin.html

I'm not familiar enough with IR except to tell you to read the help file about it. You can open IR from PS at the bottom of the tool bar. If you give it a try and get stuck, drop me a PM, maybe I can help unstuck ya.

Wyatt | Wyatt,
Thanks for taking the time to do this it is greatly appreciates, and yes it does give me some tips, however I have never tried to edit anything in Image Ready, does it have some of the same functions as far as brushes and things of that nature in PS (granted I am only running with CS and not CS2 yet)
Also where did you find the liquify filter at, I thought I looked but may not have looked hard enough and I have never used this filter to my knowledge, as well as the push left tool.
I really need to get more acquainted with PS instead of just running all the actions I have.
Thanks for the help and I am going to take time out this weekend to attempt to get somewhat what you accomplished here because this friend of mine is hounding me to get the images done.
Totally appreciate the effort,
Steve

Image Ready only for the roll-over before/after deal. All the work to the picture was done in Photo Shop. Liquify is in the Filters menu, or Shift+Control+X. Push Left tool is the "two little checkerboard areas with a left arrow" icon. Set the brush pressure to 15 to 25. Forward warp tool is also useful (top icon). Push left tool takes some practice and getting used to, or did for me anyway.
Drop me a note if you need some help.

Wyatt - and another answer to roll-over demo -
First, Wyatt - you did a great job with the photoshop work. It doesn't look a thing like the original model, but it looks great! Oh, the power of photoshop!
There are several free Image roll over scripts on the Macromedia exchange site, if you use Dreamweaver to work on a website. http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/ex...Exchange&avm=1
Here is the exact URL for one of the Image Rollover scripts: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/ex...006700&catid=0
They are easy to install and work with. However, some people with old browers will have trouble with them. I have been using them for years and they are great, but every once in awhile someone yells because they cause problems with their browser. Good luck.
Another one you would like, if you like the roll-over is "Advanced Random Images" http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/ex...769029&catid=0
Enjoy!

I think wyatt did a great job on the photoshop work. I do wonder how I'd feel if it was me and someone edited me that much though.
Yes the end picture looks great but would it make you feel better or worse having that much adjustment done ? I struggle with this myself when fixing portraits - removing blemishes etc. I tend to only work on things that are transitory, like pimples, but leave things that are part of the person like moles.

Steve -
The liquify filter can be found in photoshop - it is the third option down and gives you a pop up box to play around with in order to get the desired effect. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
