book printing - 02-26-2006, 08:09 PM

Looking for some advice/ suggestions/ recommendations. Was recently at a wedding and want to put together a decent book of the photos I took in / around the event as a thank you present. I'm thinking something very similar to the iPhoto books, except I don't have a mac to put one together.

Anyone have experience with the various book printing options that could recommend good options for a PC based one off classy looking book ?

i was about to recommend iphoto books until i read the rest of your post :( i looked around for an alternative to iphoto, before i made a book a couple months back for my wife. the one that i found was called www.photoworks.com. although i ended up using iphoto in the end the modern look and feel of the books interested me. they looked classy and give a variety of options. i hope you find what your looking for.

Try www.LULU.com they will print a book for about $25.00. You can put it together in word ftp it to them and have book in a few days. You can also put your book on line for others to buy.

While I don't have any experience with their books, I got some calendars printed from Lulu and was extremely disappointed with the quality. Very grainy and poor color.

I had similar experiences with lulu calendars. They seemed pretty cheap, even compared to shutterfly and the like.

I put together a 586 photo book on PhotoWorks.com. It turned out great. Look for their discounts. If you become a member and sign up for e-mails, they will send you discount codes. Upload you photos and lay out your book, but don't submit it (buy it) until they run a sale.
