De-fishing a Peleng 8mm in CS2's ACR - 03-17-2006, 01:04 PM

Has any one tried to de-fish a Peleng 8mm in CS2's ACR? I keep looking at them and think in might be a fun lense but would like to be able to de-fish it. I do all my image work on a Mac so PTLens isn't an option.

Can't help for the mac. I use PTLens, but I used the 15mm settings with my 8mm Sigma.
I did not know that ARC had a de-fish setting.
John, don't you have the 5D? I have never seen the 8mm de-fished on a full frame, might be cool....

Yes, I have a 5D and was thinking it might be interesting. My bad it's not in ACR. I may have found a solution for the Mac. PTMac. Here it with a 5D and the 15mm Canon Fisheye.

I wish I had will power. No gear for a while after the 5D but a Peleng is on order.

Would be interested in the build quality after you get it. Also, where did you end up picking one up (ebay)?

I went with Kiev Camera in Atlanta.

http://www.kievcamera.com/product.php?ID=14

I felt more comfortable with them than eBay.

Fished rather than de-fished - 03-18-2006, 06:39 PM

Here's a shot at 17mm (the orignal is in my gallery) fished using Kerk LensFix plug-in's in CS2 on the iMac.

They sell on ebay as well... http://stores.ebay.com/kievcamera

And they list the Peleng at $199, instead of the $249 shown on their website.

No Camera And No Lenses Right Now...
Maybe a new Canon 1D series in the future?

Kevi on eBay - 03-19-2006, 07:19 AM

I saw this late last night and cancled my order directly with the store. They also have some items up for bid and I put in a bid on one for less than the buy now.
