Question PS Flash Gallery ? Disable "Print" on right click - 03-20-2006, 12:31 PM

I've been using the built in flash galleries in PS CS2 for some of my customers galleries, and liked the fact that you can't right click and save the images. But, I noticed today that there is a Print function on right click. Being pretty much Flash ignorant, is there a way to disable that function when I make the galleries?? BTW, the print only lets you print the whole page, not just the image, but I'd still rather it wasn't available.

Check this:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/kn...fm?id=tn_15259

If that does not work or pertain, see if Macromedia has something else.

Other options:
Post low res images. Good enough for the Web, not good for printing, such as 72 dpi. In the Web Gallery options, under Security, slap some Not For Printing custom text on each shot.

Otherwise, it is very difficult to stop printing. If you have Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0, there is an option to prevent printing the pdfs you create, but I do not know if it would prevent an application like SnagIt from capturing and printing.

Once an image is displayed on the monitor, it can be captured and printed. On the Mac one just uses Graber which is a system tool and you have the image.

Bill, thanks for the link. It sheds some light on the matter, but no fix for me. As the gallery is automatically generated by PS, I have no means to enter code into it.
I do post low res images, and I know if it can be seen it can be printed, all the more reason for me to want to limit as best I can the casual user from printing my images....they come out bad.

While I agree that if it can be seen it can be grabbed, the average user doesn't have the knowledge to get around a right-click disable so it's worth doing, but unforutnately, I don't know how to do it on a PS generated flash file...if you could open it in Macromedia Flash though...Will PS generate a .fla file or only a .swf file?

Only a .swf, and a couple of xtml's with the other usual stuff.
