How to achieve this in Photoshop?

I saw this photo on www.photofriday.com as a winner:

http://fotobyimran.com/?showimage=28

I really love the colors, how is this done? Filters? Photoshop?
Does anyone of you know the program Top Gear, they seem to achieve this kind of contrast as well.

If you know the answer or a bit of the answer, don’t hesitate to reply.

Kind regards,

Frank

well forth the 50 bucks.
head over to tribeca labs and down load DCF full spectrum. It will make those blues pop and smooth out the image. give it a look once you see it in action you will buy it. http://www.tribecalabs.com/index.html

you go right ahead and try to do it in photo shop. we all know how hard it is to get a real blue in digital or a good purple. this does it with the click of a mouse.

go to some of your images that are CC and you think they are just right. now go and hit the button on the software. you know see the difference.

it's all about time. per print everything time i hit that button I have more than paid for it in time that I have saved. Sometimes it CC's the whole image and get's the exposure pretty close. Takes me just a small correction and i am done in 2 minutes or less.

To me it looks like they desaturated green and yellow a bit, tweaked curves and contrast, and added some vignetting.

It looks like a polarizing filter was used. That's the only way I know to get the sky that deep tone. Haven't used a polarizer much, so not sure how it affects red tones. Great shot.

Are we talking about that Mazda photo? Looks pretty easy to do with the Hue/Sat dialog. Just Desaturate the colors you don't want and up the sat on the Red and Blue.

I don't have anything similar to that photo with me to try this on, but this looks really straight forward. I'd use a mask to tweak the final look but that's about it.

Oh, like hookem said, an polarizer while taking the shot wouldn't hurt either.

OK. I used a polarizing filter for this shot. I'm not a PhotoShop user, I use PaintShop Pro v9.

The filter itself did not darken the sky that much. I used the Clarify command at a setting of 3 (used it a few times -- not sure what the PhotoShop equiv. would be). I'm sure the effect is post processing.

Should have used something red in the shot...
