Hi All,
Just a dumb question I can't figure out the answer for.

Found a feature I really want to use, called the extract tool (under filters). But it is greyed out on the tiff file I want to edit. Seems to work fine on some others. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

B. Overmyer

Just a hunch (since I can't confirm because I'm at work), but is the TIFF you are having problems with a 16 bit image? That filter may only work on 8 bit images.

extract working only with 8bit images, go to Image->Mode and switch to 8bit

Thanks for the info on 8 bit vs 16. That was the answer, it just never dawned on me.

THANK YOU !

PS: A lot more work than expected, I wonder if "Fluid Mask" is any better, but can't see where it is worth the $200 price
