Found a good Photoshop book from Fry's... - 04-03-2005, 10:48 PM

Well, I don't know if I need to post this in another area, but what the heck. Fry's had a good Photoshop book on sale - "Photoshop CS One on One" by the Photoshop guru, Deke McClelland. It is on sale for $25 and it has a $25 rebate, so I figured for a net price of Free, how bad can it be to pick up another book? It also has a 2 hour training companion CD. I haven't really had time to dive into the book just yet, but at first glance it seems pretty good, especially for folks like myself who haven't got the first clue about Photoshop (yet!!! I will master it someday). I think the sale is on until Tuesday.

Just thought I'd pass it along...

I got it from the library and used it. I learned alot and unfortunately forgot a lot. I think I need to read it again.

Well I am not sure I could afford it, the price is a little HIGH....

Good find, it always nice to get something for free and then to add to it something that you can use.

Thanks for the info.

I got this book a while back (not for free though). It's pretty decent, it does do a fairly good job of explaining some of the trickier topics like layers and masks, etc. My only complaint is that a fair amount of it is dedicated to gimmicky stuff I don't really have an interest in, like replacing backgrounds, composits, etc.

I got it from the Fry's here in Austin (off Parmer and Mopac). The ad yesterday (the 8th) shows it still on sale with the rebate until Tuesday the 12th.

It's not a bad deal!
