First off I dont claim to be a good "people" photographer, but i was asked any way to shoot my monther in laws wedding. it was a very small and short service (both on their second marrage, both lost their previous spouses to illness).

Also I let them know I was having problems with my camera (its being shipped in for repair now).

anyway Im not looking for critiqe on composition, angles of the shots and such, I know they suck.

I am wanting to know if any of htem look hot or over exposed. they look fine on my calibrated system, but some look hot on the laptop.

here is the link, these are just quick edits for the web

i only saw two that looked hot - one of the flowers and one of the table towards the end - but you have two of those, so not a problem.

the only thing i'd do to finish this up - is do some levels adjustments on a few, brighten them up (or try curves - auto) and see if you can adjust w/b just a hair.

otherwise - they're great

I am sure they were glad to have you there. It's nice to have more than one shooter. Takes the pressure off one another and gives the couple some additional angles they may have not gotten.

Some suggestions...

Bounce flash ( I rarely, if ever, use direct flash) to avoid light dropoff. Expose for ambient light if you can. It'll make for a much less "deer in headlights" look and a more natural even exposure.

I would also vary angles at which you shoot at. Be sure to not take all pictures from the same perspective (average adult eyeline height just angled down or straight across). Don't be afraid to zoom in tight, get some photojournalistic reaction shots rather than strictly formal/traditional posed ones, etc..

Weddings can be some of the most difficult type of photography to master and can be stressful. But..they can also be very enjoyable and rewarding too. Don't give up and keep trying to get better. Check out other peoples work continuously and don't be afraid to experiment. Asking for constructive critiques is great too. Shows that you are interested in getting better and less about being patted on the back. Good for you.

Good luck!

Andrew
