With CS2, I open Bridge and select the photos I want to merge. Then I go up top the top and click on Tools > Photoshop > Photomerge.

It will merge them all automatically and allow you to make some tweaks before saving.

In Photoshop CS1 and CS2, Bridge takes the place of File Manager. If you are still using one of the older versions, PS7 or earlier, I'm not sure how you do an automatic photomerge.

there are some stand-alone apps. one of them, Autostitch is free but one has to start with JPEGs. still does a great job, though.

the "commercial" version built upon Autostitch will work with 16 bit files (including RAW), but it's not free. You can find AutoPanoPro here.
