Awhile ago I seem to recall someone here on TPF was converting some photo's into some spectacular images that looked like oil paintings. I have a customer that is interested in having this done and was quoted an astronomical price, so just trying to find the individual that was doing it here to see if they would be interested in doing this for my customer.
Anyone remember better than me ? I tried to search using keywords: oil painting, painting, etc. but no luck.
Thanks alot.

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but assuming you're a Photoshop user, under the Filter menu, there's a Filter Gallery with all kinds of artistic enhancements you can apply to your images...

Peter -
Thanks, but no. There was somebody here that was asking for photo's about a year ago, that was using Corel Draw I think to "repaint" the photo's. The learning curve is so steep on these packages and the RAM in my brain is already getting maxed out with old age, etc. ha-ha ... also, the customer is trying to get this done for a present. I'll keep searching, maybe I'll stumble across it or remember the keywords that will help me narrow the search a little.
Thanks.

Randy | This maybe the Corel tool you are thinking of.

Or perhaps the Corel Pyramid Paint tool from the Kai's Power Tools Collection.

I remember asking someone in here about it and they recomended "Virtual Painter" you can get it as a plug in for PS or as a stand alone software, the results where one of the best in the Industry, I saw samples of it, I just got sidetracked and never ordered, but I am still thinking on getting it in the near future to add to my options as I was going to start adding that for my cistomers.

I have the Virtual Painter plug in for PS. It works well, sometimes, but can be quirky.
It's alot of trial and error - as the preview usually looks nothing like the finished image.

I used virtual painter and CS2 for the tattos in this picture of myself. You can fade in effect in photoshop.

You can also have a look at Retouchpro.com and have a look in the tutorials section under Photo-Art tutorials. There are a couple of them.
