paper help - 06-05-2006, 09:51 AM

I have been using kodak professional paper on a HP printer. I was wanting to switch to Illford paper and was wondering if anyone has used it with the HP printers. I have heard the inks are different and that is why I am asking.

thanks

If you use their glossy and matte paper you should be fine. They really do not have a lot of printer profiles for hp printers. That said, my prints on my hp with ilford paper look great. But I would not use my hp to print on the other types of paper like pearl... I use my epson for that...(unless you are talking about those new HP's that use dye ink..)

I have an hp printer that's old and I really need to replace (if I wasn't so cheap - or broke, I would have already). I just use the best hp glossy paper I can find. Are the papers you're talking about better quality or cheaper?

I have a HP 5650 printer and have been using Kodack professional paper. I have used Illford for all my black and white work in the dark room so I really like there paper and that is why I want to switch.
