I want to thank the person who in another thread on Color Mangement brought this volume to my attention.
Color Management for Photographers: Hands on Techniques for Photoshop Users by Andrew Rodney
I have long recomended Bruce Fraser's Real World Color Mangement as the book on the subject. It still is but if you use CS2 Photoshop, Rodney's book must be on your desk. It is about Photoshop and the way to manage color in photoshop regardless of the output device you are going to use. A few of his jewels of wisdom are, " The next big mistake is assuming that all you need is an sRGB working space and files in sRGB for all your output needs since all devices accept and are based on sRGB. This is total nonsense." or this "Be very concerned with shops and labs that send you some print and file, then expect you to alter the color controls on your display to match the reference print. Run away from these people as fast as you can! They don't understand how displays, let alone modern versions of Photoshop operate."
It good enough based on the first 2 chapters, I've ordered a copy to get it and the tutorial CD. If you are at Sam Houston State University, your copy will be back a a couple of weeks and you can even use the CD which they didn't send me.
If you are using Photoshop CS2 this is a must have reference and guide.
