New Training Video - 06-19-2006, 07:06 PM

I've just made another training video available for download. This one is the making of "Unkempt" and is available here. I hope you all find it useful.

The making of "Unkempt" includes all of the Photoshop techniques used to produce this image:

Once again, you hit a home run!
Thank you for sharing your marvelous techniques. I might learn to like landscape photography one day if I hang around this website long enough.

Andy, you certainly use your imagination and skills to make a flat landscape look interesting and "pop".

This tutorial was much easier than "Old Together" for the beginning PS user.
I might suggest for the beginner, start with this one and then progress to the "Old Together" tutorial found below:

Donna

Since I did not have a landscape photo readily available to experiment with, I found a copy of a meerkat I took from several years ago. I thought you might be interested in seeing the before and "after". I don't think you will have trouble distinguishing which is which....

I look forward to watching it at work during down time. I liked the first tutorial, I just can't afford something like lucisart. PS CS2 cost enough for my "hobby". That's not to mention dslr body, lenses, CF cards......my wife is gonna kill me already. I wish there was a free verssion of a similar plugin......but allas....everyone needs to make $$ somehow :(

I look forward to the vid.

Andy, As impressed with Zeroendless and his wildlife photos, I have also been very impressed with your landscape photos.... I downloaded unkept and will try it tonight on PS. I love the look that you are getting in your photos. Just made a donation to TPF. Looks like I will also have to get one to you.

Just remind your wife of all the people out there that you are helping and that you are a Photoshop missionary on a crusade to better the skills of struggling artists.... think she will buy that?....nah!.......

Thank you all for the positive feedback. What I like about these techniques is that they're universal in the fact that you can use them with all kinds of photography, not just landscapes. You can also customize the process to blend with your own unique style.

Donna: Excellent job on the meerkat! I apologize for not yet responding to your email. I promise I'll get to it tonight.

Robert: I understand about the cost of Lucisart. If I didn't use it all the time I probably couldn't justify the expense either. You'll be happy to know that this tutorial is mostly done without the use of Lucisart. In fact, I only use it at the end as a "final touch".

Jay: LOL... I'll try it but she already thinks I love the computer more than her so it's going to be a hard sell.

You've certainly topped yourself in my eyes. I enjoyed this tutorial much more than the last for a few reasons. number 1, as a begginer this was much easier to follow, simple masks and adjustments. number 2, the part that luciusart was used in was optional unlike old together, where it was necessary.

I have been in love with your style since I visited your site and viewed your gallery. You have done a great job here and I am certainly awaiting more tutorials.

Tell your wife that as a newbie slowly learning the art of post processing, PLEASE LET THESE TUTORIALS CONTINUE :)

Thanks again.
