Anything would help, so I'll take this, BUT I'm aiming more for portraits and weddings. These seem geared especially toward Senior portraits. Again I'll take that, but in addition to Seniors, I would like something that covers weddings, portraits (including individuals, couples and medium-sized groups).

Thanks, Andres, this helps, but I am looking for more.

Look online for Kodak publications and for Amphoto books on these subjects. Or even just go to the local Library and see what they have available.

Any recommendatoins? There is no shortage of books on the subjects. While we all learn differently, I was hoping to benefit from others' experiences with some of the books on the market. "Loved this one; hated that one, etc."

Honestly, I've learned more from experimenting and seeing what worked.. as well as watching this forum, filled with people that are way better than me.

searching for Posing / photography gets slim pickings at the local library:( I know there are some decent books, so if anyone can define specific title.... much appreciated.

whereas I like spontaneity, sometimes family members prefer "gosh, he/ she looks so good today, take some shots... and silly kid / teenager will not cooperate:(

Jeff, check out these books to see if they look good for you:

I didn't really care for Christopher Grey's book, although at the moment I don't remember exactly why, it's been a while since I read that one. I seem to recall the setups being somewhat repetitive.. I do have one of Bill Hurter's books and thought it was pretty good; not the one linked above but his posing guide.

Lighting for Portrait Photography by Steve Bavister was pretty good IMHO. A very wide range of photographic styles and lighting setups (as opposed to focusing just on multi-strobe studio setups). And it has pretty good diagrams for the setups discussed.

I just got one called "Outdoor Photography: Portraits" by Cathy Joseph that seems pretty good so far. It focuses on outdoor portraits (duh) using natural light sometimes augmented with fill flash/reflectors/etc. It's less a tutorial than case studies of the included shots.
