I haven't used them personally but I prefer to crop my own before sending to whichever lab I'm using. I've had way too many problems in the past with thinking it will print one way and then sure enough it cuts something off somewhere.

I make sure everything is ready/cropped/adjusted before handing it to them. I've been pleased with their quality, but dissapointed in their limited size offerings.

I have used them and was pretty happy with them. I crop before I upload but I have used their cropping before.
They have a crop tool so you should not have a problem with them messing any thing up because you are still controlling the crop.
I have uploaded some pics to get some 4x6 and then later wanted a 8x10 and just used their crop tool and it came out great.

I would crop using your own personal photo editor. This way each photo is cropped just the way you want it to be.

The benefit of using Adorama crop tool is you only have to upload 1 version of the picture and then use their crop tool. So then you can get a 4x6 or 5x7, 8x10 from just one file. You will still have it just the way you want it. You are still in full control of the crop, it does not just take it off the top or bottom.

But Jake, can you zoom into the picture using their crop tool and control down to the pixel where the crop starts and ends? Maybe that's not important but for some shots maybe it is.

I don't think you can view the crop preview at 100%. I never needed to do that but you are right, that may mater to some.
I never crop to a pixel so the preview always works fine for me. The only time I upload more then 1 file of the same pic is if I processed it differently.
