Photo size question - 07-09-2006, 01:11 PM

My fiance's cousin is visiting from NY and while she is here I am shooting her senior pictures. For the yearbook, they need 2 copies of a 1 1/2 head sized portrait. Is anyone familiar with what size this is?

If you cannot reach the yearbook staff or sponsor at this time of year, just shoot a nice headshot and one 1.5 times as long as the head(head and half its height again into the shoulders). You can mail the print to her when the question is answered. It won't be needed for months.

Taylor Publishing, which I think is the largest yearbook publisher is in Dallas, so I called them. Did not mean anything to them, either. They liked the shoot now, print to size later idea.

See if she can find out who the publisher is from last year's book. Then call them.

If she cannot do so, take several variations leaving more or less room around the head so you can crop later.

You just mail the print to her, Syracuse or wherever.
