Pimp my image - 07-11-2006, 12:15 PM

I did a photo shoot last night with Jacky Nguyen. On one set we went for more of a high key/Maxim (whatever that is) style shot. I think the lighting and exposure are OK, but I don't know quite what else to do to it in post. I tried a little diffuse glow, but with the high key BG, it didn't work well. I could mask the rest of the shot out and just filter her, but I want to get some fresh ideas from the folks here. Only rule is you have to tell me what you did.

Web shot to see before you download the big jpg:

Link to the full size jpg (Adobe RGB, BTW).

I played with it just for the sake of playing with it ..... I gotta say the original unedited is very good. The versions I came up with seemed ok but I still like the original better.

Ill post mine in a bit

I don't see anything wrong with the way it is. I like the poster idea.

I'm not afraid to play.

This is Maxim meets CSI: Miami, the skin tone is a little orangy, but it is generally what I was trying for.

I used one of the NIK filters called sunshine and added a little Gaussian blur with soft light blend.

OK, I'll give it a shot anyway. This is using Paint Shop Pro 9.

1. Bumped up the contrast just a bit.
2. Used the Clarify tool (setting of 5) to add some depth.
3. Then saturated the colors to compensate for the desaturation caused by the Clarify tool.
4. Cropped then sharpened.

OK...my meeting is somewhat boring. Here's my attempt while "multitasking":

I took the background to almost white, ran a couple of Kubota Artistic actions on it (Hollywood Intensity and Angel Glow) and adjusted opacity on those to my taste added a layer mask and got rid of some of the glow around the face.

I just want to see a few more images of her - like a couple hundred or thousand would do just fine!
