Question Shooting Star Trails? - 07-16-2006, 10:25 AM

I thought there was a post (perhaps even an outing) that described in pretty good detail how to shoot star trails. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have the link to that post?

Thanks

what about for guys like me.... are there any ways around not having a wired remote shutter? ive never tried using the bulb feature with my wireless.... its out of batteries... but im looking to try this out in a few days. i dont think the d50 has it... but isnt there some sort of shutter lock you can do?

you can take 100 or so 30 second exposures (its a labor of love...umm insanity) and you can stack them in software.

or tape the button down.

Thanks everyone, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for. There was a post here at TPF about shooting star trails and even several examples. Hoping this will bump up this thread and someone will see it.

This was taken with my D50. 20 minute exposure.
Using the remote works great.
