MS RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for WinXP - 08-07-2006, 02:08 PM

Hello All,

I thought i would post this here because i think it's pretty cool to have something built in to XP to view nikon's, or canon's RAW image formats.

I loaded it up on my PC last night, and it worked like a charm. Remember, this is something developed along with canon, and nikon. So it is not a 100% MS addon.

I hope it helps everyone out. I know it has me.

Cheers'

I've been using it for a while now and really like it. It does lock up a bit, but that's OK with me for the price I paid.
It's great for doing a quick preview and deleting any bad shots.(not that I ever have any bad shots)

Chaz - does the 30D not take CR2 format photos? I thought that was Canon's standard?

Also, I love this little add-on. :) Super helpful in deciding which photos I'm going to actually work on and which ones to just toss.

Yeah Amy its a cr2 extension but it doesnt support something inside the file I guess. It works great with the 20d but a no go for the 30d...

Thanks for posting this. I was going crazy trying to make this work. I was under the impression as long as the file is CR2 it should work. But none of my CR2 files I can veiw, since they are all taken with 30D. I thought some thing is wrong with my system or the way I installed the program.

Thanks for the post.

Well that kind of stinks. Does Picassa or Irfanview support the 30D? I believe they both have a type of thumbnail/organization tool.
