i'm wanting to sell prints of my work and i want to know if anybody has good experiences with places for prints. i'm looking for high quality, fair prices, decent turnaround time. this is for digital work.

If you're looking for a web site that can host, print, and ship your photos I would recommend http://www.exposuremanager.com. As for simply asking for straight print jobs I've never had a problem with http://www.mpix.com. I've also heard that Costco does a decent job.

MPIX does a very nice job. I use their "pro" side (Miller's) for all my work - even some of the personal stuff.

Now, no matter what Clint says, my local Costco does a very nice job for some of my less important personal stuff. I've become friends with their lab techs and they know EXACTLY what I want and I get it.

stuff I shoot to hang on my fridge on is one thing....prints I am *selling* is another. I just don't sell prints on consumer grade crystal archive paper...it just feels cheap to me. especially when I can get better quality it at a competive price from Millers and sometimes Mpix.

Like Jesus said, millers for the pro type prints and mpix for the latter. And believe it or not, Sams, who uses a Fuju Frontier machine for the everyday stuff.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm really eager to get some of my work printed up. Hopefully in the future I can get a gallery showing going. :D

But doesn't the Fuji Crystal Archive paper have a better archival rating than the Kodak paper? That's what I've heard anyway. I know a lot of people were complaining when WHCC switch from Fuji paper to Kodak.

Personaly I find both unimpressive; RC "photo" papers pale in comparison to fiber-based papers.

No kidding, If they would just change to a better paper, I'd probably spend half my life there.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

For stuff I sell, I use Pounds Labs in Dallas. Great quality and Texas owned. For personal stuff or when I am in a big hurry, I use Sams. The lab techs know me and my monitor is calibrated to their printer. They know not to try and color correct my prints.
