I have this dehunidifier that is in my camera bag. I recharge it every month in the oven.

It seems to help a lot. But that's just me. I bought it on freebay, and i know they sell it in the camera stores like HCE.

Cheers`

i'm sure my engagement picture couple would be thrilled if their first 20-25 shots were foggy and they were unrecognizable ;) and my bride and groom wouldn't mind if ALL of their reception exit pics were totally fogged up and you couldnt' see detail.

I had a thought... Yes, I know it's rare but always nice when one pops up unexpectedly.

Has anyone tried the anti-fog cloths that are sold for your car windows? I have an old one in my truck and used correctly, it works like a charm in those instances where the humidity is high but the temp is such that you don't necessarily need the a/c or the heat on...

Ya, but as soon as you open your bag in the outside humidity and remove your camera and lens, doesn't fog up anyway? That's the problem, the AC sucks all the humidity out of the house so as soon as you walk outside, instant fog and with big lenses like the 70-200 even exterior condensation!

believe it or not i have seen lensbabies used on weddings, JUST to get that diffused, unsharp, out of focus look...... personally i liked them because they were different and out of the norm.... some people (i.e. me) like that unusual stuff ... i do understand using the lens is a choice and not forced upon you like the fog ... but if i had to decide to shoot/not shoot a foggy lens ... i say shoot! ya never know what youll get...

p.s. bubstang it is a sunseting in front of a condo, on the bay, at south padre island.

sbug - turning down the AC inside would make it even worse, you'd need to turn it up My wife and i have the same discussion (down is colder, up is warmer)

Just what is that chemical on them? I would not want to be putting that on my lens coatings without a very good knowledge of what it was and just how really soft that cloth was.

I'm paranoid but nothing touchs my lens coating but a drop of lab grade alcohol on a microfiber cloth and then only in straight wipes not a circle.

John, I was told that the active ingredient impregnated into the anti-fog cloths is glycerine. I have no proof of that however and the original baggie that my cloth came in is so old and raggedy that I can't tell if it notes the chemical or not.
I believe I originally purchased it at the fair or a craft show where they always have the little booth offering to clean your glasses with a "new and improved" product of some sort. And yes, it works on my car windows and my eye glasses just fine but like you, I'd do some more checking before I applied it to lens coatings.
