Ahhh, I tried internet explorer and it worked perfect! I'm going with it being a straight photoshop trick, but I'm not certain.

Oh, I thought you meant the visual effect. Try opening the page in firefox and see the error it gives, then google that.

I was talking about the visual effect. I can't find anything that gives you that kind of motion blur.

Jason, do you have Photoshop? In PS try a motion blur over the entire image; add mask and fill w/ white; then use a black brush to open up the parts of the image you want to show . . .

Well after so more playing around I found what is called the "wind" effect in PSP. It doesn't give exactly the same look, but is a lot closer than the blur effects.

Okay I think I have stumbled onto the way to create this effect. It looks like you can create this effect with a picture tube. You would just export the cutout of the player as a picture tube and then create a new file and paint the tube with velocity to get the effect.

I haven't been able to try it yet, but I just quickly toyed around and think it will work. Will post some results after I get a chance to see if it works.

Will here is the image and the effect that I was looking for although it didn't come out "exactly" as I wanted, but it's pretty close.
