Border help - 08-27-2006, 12:15 AM

I've been able to use borders with the middle that is black without a problem. It's the borders that are bright green that I can't seem to fit my picture in without the green coming through. I probably did a crappy job of explaining my problem, but hopefully not.

Wild stab: are you using screen mode to knock out the black? That won't work with green...

Can I see a picture of the background? That would really help... also, is it fully saturated green?

I keep thinking that you'll have to chroma key it, but chroma key is a video tool, not a Photoshop tool. Hmmm... I'm not sure what to tell you there; you could select the green color, but you would be left with raggedy half-green edges. Not good.

I've used the same border and my border file is actually several layers. If I am moving the photograph TO the border, I make sure to insert the photograph OVER the green layer. (You can also turn off the green layer).

If I am moving the border TO the photograph, move all layers EXCEPT the green layer. Of course, none of this is going to work if you don't have layers!

Now I'm confused. On that note I'm going to sleep! :)
Maybe the border fairy will have an answer for me in the morning!

Okay... did your border come in separate layers, or just as a flat image? Because if it's separate layers, you can delete or hide the green layer. If it's flat, there's not much you can do with it.

It came as a flat image. I got it here: http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm#Andreas_Borders

Andrea, do you have CS2? If so, it can open PDF files with layers. I will be happy to send you my border file so that you have all of the layers.
