Digital Basics - 09-26-2006, 10:20 AM

I've searched around for some photography basics and have found lots of threads for books and classes. I'm gonna be coming up on an opportunity to study a bit on digital cameras, but I'm not sure I wanna lug around a bunch of books (anymore than I'm already taking w/ me) and I definitely don't have time for classes. So, I was wondering if someone had some good links for basic photography info.

I have a little background in photography, but it was such a long time ago I really have to re-learn most everything. Also, the whole digital factor makes a pretty big difference. I have a Sony DSC-H5...and that's it. I'm looking for some lenses and filters in the future, but I figure one step at a time.

Try doing a search online for "Photography 101" and I'm sure you'll find some stuff.

Also, I really recommend the Magic Lantern Guide. That's really probably the only book you need after you've brushed up on your basic stuff.

Adam,

Here's a partial list of websites that I've used to learn a few things without breaking the bank and the back on books. (I still bought a few books, can't help it, I'm a book-a-holic).

Have fun.

As far as books, take a look at Scott Kelby's "The Digital Photography Book". Highly recommend it, even for experienced photographers.
