Sensor Cleaning & Fuzzy Pictures - 11-06-2006, 01:57 PM

I recently cleaned the sensor in my Rebel XT. I tested the job by taking a pic of the sky at F22 and found that I did a good job (ie. no more dust particles on the sensor). I have noticed though that some of my telephoto pics seem to have a fuzzy contrast type glare now (like between the red and white stripes on my son's uniform). I don't notice this at all when I use my 50mm prime or my kit zoom. Only with the 70-300mm consumer Canon zoom.

My question is this: Could my Copperhill cleaning fluid have left a haze-like film residue on the sensor or is it the lens? I'm planing on getting a better zoom but I'm extra concerned that there may be something on the sensor.

Any suggestions?

If you cleaned the sensor, and you're seeing strange optical effects with one of your lenses but not the other ones, I would venture to guess that the fault lies with the 70-300.

If you followed the CH directions, I doubt if you hurt the sensor any. I agree with Daniel that is probably just your lens that is the problem.
