Any ideas on compensating for light pollution levels or lunar eclipse conditions?

The #1 problem in taking moon shots is trying to make them any different from everyone else's moon shots. You seldom see that problem discussed.

I was browsing a copy of B&W Magazine at Barnes & Noble recenty. One of the articles featured moon photos in a way I hadn't seen before. The photos were either multiple exposures or extremely long exposures. Both types were unique and distinctive. I assume they were all shot on film.
