Running out of space PART II: Aperture/Lightroom - 01-04-2007, 04:48 PM

Ok, so from the other thread I explained that I've been storing all my photos on one drive and backing that drive up. Now those 2 drives are filling up so I got two more drives. The 2 new drives are going into the computer and the other two drives will be stored away somewhere.

My question this time is what do I do with Aperture and Lightroom as far as all the pics already imported to those two programs? What if I want to still work on some of those pics at some point but nothing specific right now? I recall some talk about "referencing" the pics from other hd's or something like that. So what do I do if I don't have terrabytes of storage allowing me to keep all pics on one drive or even multiple drives connected to the computer at the same time?
